Renewable Energy Does Reduce Global Warming

By: J.Morgan

There are many ways in which you as an individual person can prevent and reduce global warming. One way in which you can do this is by using renewable energy in your home or office. The dominant reasons why many people do not use renewable energy is that they do not know enough about it. They do not understand how it works or how to get it or what to do with it. Many people are also afraid it will too costly for them to even consider it and so they do not. However, the more you understand about renewable energy and its effects on global warming, the better you will be able to tell that it might work for you and your home or office.

There are actually several renewable energy resources that you can ponder when choosing ways to reduce global warming. Once you get the details about these renewable energy sources, you will be able to see how they can help you.

The main sources of renewable energy are:

Solar power
Wind power

There are some situations where you can also consider:

Making your own energy
Geothermal energy
Hydro-power

Solar power and wind power are at the top of the list because they are the most easily accessible, easy to set up and use and most affordable for most people at this time. Solar power can be used in generally any location where the sun shines and solar panels can be installed. There are also solar power batteries which can charge from the solar panels and allow you to still have power even when the sun goes down or on a cloudy day. This makes it very efficient and it saves a sizeable amount of the costs you would spend on electric energy. You can even have electric energy as a backup power source in your home.

Wind power is another option that is catching on in certain areas of the country. Some communities are still resistant to it because of the large windmills that are used to harness the power from the wind but the most popular areas for wind power are on the West Coast. The wind turbines get their source of power from the wind and they need to be placed as high off the ground as possible so that trees and other items do not block the flow of the wind and lower the amount of energy it can produce.

In addition to these two popular methods, there are also ways you can learn to produce your own energy at home. Geothermal energy takes its source from the heat of the earths core and hydro-power uses water to fuel for energy. Each of these methods as well as other new methods are being created and improved on a daily basis as we search for a better fuel resource.
